I don't know whether anyone else reads news items that might affect them, but I'm awaiting updates on the Devon and Cornwall tourist tax:

Despite loving these beautiful areas and visiting a number of times over the years and spending a fair bit of money too I may add, if they implement this tax I will boycott these places completely on principal.
Would you be happy to pay yet another tax to visit part of your own country? If they don't want people there then just say please don't visit us, close the holiday camps or pay the owners to use them to house the illegal immigrants, ban the rental of privately owned holiday accomodation, then everyone will be happy!

Yes, these are becoming the norm. I read a posting of someone complaining about Cambridge. They were less than complimentary about the place, and they lived there!
