Okay if you insist. https://forum.daciaownersclub.uk/downlo ... ew&id=2051 I wanted a blue one but they have discontinued all colours except this one, terracotta, or white or off white. I didn't want a white or grey one so I opted for the terracotta. That pic is not my car to be honest my missus has mine but mine is exactly the same as that one. I also did not get the new front badge even though I didn't order mine until November last year. I don't have any problems with it so far apart from the electronic hand brake which is an abomnimation. What on earth was wrong with a couple of cables and a bent bit of tin handle. It must cost a lot more to put an electronic handbrake on than a traditional handbrake.

Even though it wasn't your first color choice, it is actually a good color
Never had an electronic handbrake, I am quite happy with the traditional one where I am in absolute control of when it bites and releases, not sure how they would fare if you needed to do a handbrake turn

This exactly. In my opinion electronic handbrakes along with stop start technology are dangerous.
Gordon bennet this forum software takes some getting used to. trying to change font colours and add or remove underling etc doesn't happen in the edit it just puts gobble de gook at the end of the sentence or doesn't. Time it was updated big time. There ya go rant over but this way of doing things was twenty years ago. SEE I changed the font colour from red to white on my comments about electronic handbrakes but my "Gordon Bennet" comments have gone back to red all on thier own.
"Admin Post Edit"
At the point you want to change font colour
You select a new colour and print between the gobble de gook as you call it
Things don't just do things all on their own, but they do by operator error
Ater you have done all your typing, you can click preview and check that the font colours are correct before you submit the post
As you can see it works perfectly But it is tricky when you are quoting a comment, as you found when you start changing formats of the original then your text will change to the last font colour used even if part of it was changed to another colour

How? Start stop works in an instant? The engine stops but it stops 30Β° before tdc so only needs a nudge to start?Pete wrote: βWed Feb 08, 2023 9:16 amOldBear wrote: βTue Feb 07, 2023 2:24 pm Even though it wasn't your first color choice, it is actually a good color

Also unless all the parameters are met it wont stop, so how is this dangerous i can understand the "i cant get used to it" as a remark but DANGEROUS? Its a big word!
As for an electronic hand brake also how is it dangerous ? It wont work over 7kph , at all. And depending how the system is set will know of at the clutch biting point or when switched of as not needed when your foot is on the brake pedal.
I dislike start stop , because of the unnecessary extra wear and tear on the starter and battery, but being honest i manage a fleet of some 350 vehicles and to date havent replaced a starter due to it wearing out.
As for handbrakes well being put off by the old megane system from the mid 2000's the systems are now pretty easy to work with even on a dead vehicle its simple to deploy the handbrake to put it into tow mode.
Rant/not rant over without the use of colours

WOW
I haven't seen as much use of heavy psychedelic's for a very long time
I don't believe the electronic handbrake is actually dangerous in itself, annoying perhaps if you are a manual control driver like me i.e. someone who enjoys every aspect of driving. If it applied itself and switched the brake lights off at the same time when the car had come to a stop at junctions and when in stationary traffic, it would benefit all due to massively reducing the glare for the drivers behind in the dark and especially in the rain.
The stop start is purely to comply with OTT emmisions levels, you can over ride it with the switch in the car, I do this automatically after starting the engine, or if you really want to, you can completely disable it using software. I left mine because as time goes on you may find it will become a legal requirement in various downtown/inner city areas.

I want a proper engine, a stick/manual transmission and a proper handbrake lever!

I always thought an electric handbrake was an unnecessary expense and something extra to go wrong. As regards the actual use, though, I soon got into it as fitted to our Meriva Techline, indeed I was forever trying to move off in our Sandero with the handbrake on in the early stages of ownership!

Re: New member
I did read - and have replied to a member on this forum based on what I learned, that with the electronic handbrakes used on Dacia/Renault cars, if you had applied it, you could just simply drive off and it would release automatically - can you confirm this after having driven yours for a while now?awbuggrit wrote: βWed Feb 08, 2023 6:23 pm I always thought an electric handbrake was an unnecessary expense and something extra to go wrong. Ours is the good old fashioned type OldBear, but it was electric on the Meriva, and yes you are right, it releases when you move off.
