Soon to be new Stepway owner

Post by MattW1990 »

Hi all.
I have recently placed an order for a new Stepway prestige bi-fuel.
Looking forward to eventually taking delivery (currently march :o ) and having some fun with the car all over the country.

Hi Matt

Welcome to the forum. I see from your entry re greenstuff pads that you had a MX5. Have you still got it?

I’ve got an NC3.5 2.0ltr Sport PRHT. I’ve had it a little over 11 years. It’s a garage dweller and gets more abuse than care😂

I do still have the MX5 . It's a bit of a weekend and trackway toy.
It's a MK1 1.8 and its taken me all over the UK and Europe. Probably a car I will never sell.

Finally have a build date of 1st Feb. Delivery still looking like March. Feb is the shortest month but I think this year it will feel like the longest.

Slighy delay during shipping but the car has finally landed in the UK. Shouldn't be to much longer now.

Usually takes around 2 weeks to get to the dealer after arriving at the import centre, So you will be looking at around the middle of the month.

Latest delivery update from the dealer is 15th April so only a few days away. But as an apology for the delay they have lent me a brand new Clio until the Sandero arrives.

Exciting times. The car has arrived at the dealer yesterday and will be made ready for collection from tomorrow. Unfortunally I am now the problem. I am away with work until Tuesday next week so that will be collection day.

Oh no, I bet that as frustrating as hell for you - still, on the bright side, it gives the dealer more time to give her a proper polish before you collect :D

Almost 7 months after placing the order today I picked up the car.
It had 12 miles on when I collected it so the next few days will be spent running it in gently before some big road trips over the next few months.
And yes the last few days before collection were very long. :D

Running in new cars these days is not like it was in days gone by.

Nowadays its just a case of drive normally for the first 600miles keeping the revs controlled to stop them from going to high, Once its run in it still takes 4-5K to fully break it in.

Hello everyone and Happy Easter.
This is my first post as I've just joined this group in anticipation of becoming an owner of a sandero stepway bi-fuel. Ordered at the beginning of January 2022. It's probably June before the car arrives so initial excitement has past. The only other new car I've bought was a Hillman Imp way back in 1970 which I think was about £700 it being the cheapest new car I could afford! I've had many "new" company cars but none of my own.
The site is new to me and not being of the younger age group will take some time in getting used to finding my way around.
Cheers everyone

Hi and a warm welcome piotrljs :D
The time will drag at times waiting, but it will be well worth it!!
I drove a Hilman Imp back in the 70's, nippy little thing with the Coventry Climax engine in the back, they were very good in their day in the handling department too! 8-)
Age is just a number, and as the saying goes: growing older is compulsory, growing up is entirely optional
Take you time looking around, have a read up on here and if you get stuck on something just pop a new post up in the relevant section and someone will try to help, you'll soon manage to familiarise yourself with everything and become a dab hand!
