Post by OldBear »

Dacia have now sold over 1,000,000 LPG vehicles across Europe with a 67% share of the LPG market - that's quite something!!

A lot of it is down to MFG the owner of a lot of fuel stations who have been pulling out LPG pumps in favour of replacing them with fast chargers for EV's
They are obviously more profitable than LPG pumps, until folk realise how much it will cost them to charge with these fast chargers.
I wonder if these fast chargers will shorten the life of the EV batteries especially with contained regular use, fast charging most other batteries will shorten the life of them so I cant see it being any different with EV batteries.

There has been some smaller independents with more sense that have installed new LPG tanks but they are out numbered by the amount MPG will pull out of the stations they own.

It's understandable, after all if it's not making money.......This is why all major supermarkets sell all the same FMCGs(Fast Moving Consumer Goods as we grocers say- it in my case said.) The consumer loses out of course in variety and sometimes convenience. Although we have to travel about 15 miles for our LPG we generally incorporate the trip with other reasons and at 75p a litre in my view it's worth it.

I Was going to go for a duel fuel as i fitted a conversion to a Cavalier a long time ago. When i checked the availability here around Bridgend only Morrisons in Barry or Port Talbot had LPG pumps .I never really understood why it never caught on

Maybe because it's difficult to justify taxing low emissions fuels so they didn't want it.

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases:
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidise it - Ronald Reagan!

Things have moved even further downward since his days...

The short answer is 'they' don't want the plebs having personal transport, so it's back to Shanks' Pony and be grateful!
