New Member - just ordered Jogger Hybrid

Post by cguk70 »

Hi All,

Just took the plunge yesterday and ordered a new Dacia Jogger Extreme 1.6 Hybrid in Shadow Grey to replace our aging Ford S-MAX.

Need lots of space for camping holidays, and having 7 seats is useful when we need to transport our sons' friends around.

Apart from the camping trips and the occasional European trip, most of the time the S-MAX is used as a town car, which is probably not great for the 2L diesel engine, so was looking at a hybrid.

All searches kept leading to the Dacia Jogger. Never considered a Dacia before, but I've yet to read a bad review about the Jogger, and I really like the new branding.

Took the family to the dealer yesterday thinking we'd just have a look - but it was quiet, so was able to take the car for a test drive, was impressed by the driving experience, and decided to buy one.

They even offered me £1000 more than the WeBuyAnyCar initial offer for the S-MAX as a part exchange.

Excited to see how it copes with all our camping gear - think the modular roof bars are an excellent idea - should be compatible with our Halfords roof box.

Saw some interesting posts on this forum so have decided to join and hopefully share some good stories about the Jogger.

Will keep you posted ...

Hi cguk70,
:welcome:

I've not seen the Shadow grey apart from the brochure images, I'm also a fan of grey colors. I think the S-MAX was a very decent car overall but as you have seen - to state the obvious here, you get a lot of car for the money with the Dacia brand! Those Joggers are vast inside but do not look ungainly either. Ideal for camping with all that space 8-)

You can't beat a test drive before parting with your money, I drove my Wife's Duster all the way to Devon and back as a test drive and I was absolutely smitten with it.

Did you manage to secure one that was in stock or have you ordered to your specification and have to wait for delivery?

Hi OldBear,

Thanks for the welcome. The showroom model was in shadow grey and I think it looks good with the copper mirrors and trim. The other option was cedar green but my wife already has a dark green mini. I quite like the terracotta but it's a little out of my comfort zone. (Actually I've just realised all my previous cars apart from one have been grey or silver - perhaps I should have diversified.)

Test drive to Devon and back sounds perfect. I was happy they just gave us the keys and let us drive around for a bit on our own taking in some dual carriageways and smaller roads.

I'm amazed at what you get for the price. I wasn't really looking for a brand new car but thought why not since it's such good value. Plus it has a warranty and they threw in a service plan.

Its a factory order so will have to wait. They said maybe September but we'll see.

I look forward to seeing a photo of the car in Shadow grey rather then the brochour images assuming you are willing to share of course.
I've never been a green car person but the shade they use on the Mini's is reminiscent of British racing green and that always looked good - when polished ;)

The warranty is good, I had a couple of jobs done on my previous Duster and I could not fault them - I did have to wait for the parts though for the second job but no problem apart from that.

The service plan is also a good thing to have, we had to pay for ours so you have definitely come out tops in that respect, plus they throw in the 4th year as well if you have the car servivced by a main dealer and there's the 7 year warranty option available should you desire it.

September will be upon us very soon, I hope all goes as anticipated for the delivery :D

We're in Hertfordshire - not far from Hemel Hempstead.

I think September is quite optimistic for us considering it's August in two days. The dealer is going to call me this week to confirm the finance is ok, so I'll try and press him for a more accurate estimate.

Enjoy the Sandero - looked nice in the showroom.
