Blast from the past - Tonka!
Who remembers these now classic tough toys? They lasted for years without breaking!
The advert wording was: Tonka - Real tough toys for real tough boys. TONKA!
Later wording included tough Girls!

Yep, remember those. One of our neighbours disparagingly referred to her husband's little 4×4 as his Tonka Toy, at least I THINK that's what she meant. I wonder what slogan they'd use now in these woke
times? Something like,"Tonka Tinies, for little non-binaries.

Re: Blast from the past - Tonka!
Had a few in my day, even the crane that thing could lift anything yes I tried...
I remember 5 of us getting together for a Tonka day - where we all went to 1 house with our Tonka
One brave Man agreed we could have our Tonka day in their Garden - Oh what a big mistake that was.
We all had a great day in the garden, digging, muck moving, building just the things Tonkas are made for
We were being served with plenty of juice, snacks and sarnies...
Mam disappeared shopping and left big Sister n charge supervising, but she was too busy with her boyfriend upstairs, we were too young to know what they were busy doing.
It started raining so play had to move inside
so we decided to build a big Forte in the front room so we could have a war with the plastic soldiers, our mate whose house it was had thousands of soldiers in about a dozen colours, we had some amazing days with these..
Anyway we got on with building the Forte, the Tonkas went to work bring loads of loads from the garden and dump on the living-room floor to build our forte, did not take long to build the hugh fort, then start our war .
The Mam got back with her shopping and was traumatised
An the big sister got al the blame for not watching us.
